People come to faith for a variety of reasons. Sometimes they are born into it; other times, they have a Paul-like moment where everything just snaps. Other times, like for me, it’s a return to the faith. Hello and welcome. My name is Dustin White, and I’m an ex-evangelical, former atheist, and an anti-apologist. For…
Steven is a great scientist. But as with many scientists, they are out of their depth when speaking of history. Largely because the manner in which both are studied is rather different. So let’s break this article down. The first point that needs to be addressed is this idea that it’s not surprising that one…
I first just want to start off saying that I really enjoy most things Steven puts out. But I think he should stay in fields he actually knows, and I don’t think this is one. While he calls the piece he’s responding to as poorly informed, his response really isn’t any better. (To see Steven’s…

The claims often stem from polls conducted by the Pew Research Center, which have for some time shown a gradual increase in the number of people classified as “nones,” those with no religious affiliation. At the same time, those who…
What do you do when your minister makes the bold claim that Jesus was definitely not born of a virgin? When Matthew states Mary was a virgin, the word Matthew used didn’t actually mean virgin. Or that virgin births were a common trope, that even the Emperor was said to be born of a virgin….
Did you know that Christmas is a pagan holiday? It’s one of those “facts” that gets passed around during the Christmas season every year. Most people simply take it at face value. But this fact is a 19th-century creation. It arose at the same time as the myth that Easter was inspired by pagan celebrations…
